Tan Guang Ruey is a Registered Architect in the Netherlands. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Tsinghua University in Beijing and Master of Science from Delft University of Technology. He has worked in the international top architectural firms MVRDV and OMA, and the participating projects include Tianjin Binhai Library, Shenzhen Shekou Museum Opening Exhibition, and Incheon Paradise City Casino. He is an all-round designer.
In addition to architectural design, he is also proficient in product design, 3D animation, video production, and web design. In 2015, he joined the founding team of CLFX n.v. Rotterdam, a startup company that explores architecture from a product development point-of-view. CLFX develops smart architectural products that integrate with technology. The pilot product of CLFX, Mediaksin is a transparent display that integrates LED with glass curtain walls. Other products in the development pipeline include X-Pot, a prefab high-end portable house.
In 2017, he helps establish the Chinese Branch (Mediaskin Beijing) and currently serves as Director of the Design & Engineering team. He leads the team to focus on the research and development of Mediaskin products, the design and engineering solutions of Mediaskin projects and the media integration design in the architectural space. In the meantime, he is actively involved in the development of new products of CLFX. He is based in Rotterdam and Beijing.
